2013 Program

The Altered Lives of Lavonne Sallee - A profile of an altered Barbie artist from the Bay Area. Her humor is infused in every piece that she makes from the kinky to the absurd. Director Jazmin Jamias and artist Lavonne Sallee will be attending. (12 min)

- A six year old boy brings home a piece of school work that provokes his parents to question his sexual orientation..and their own.(10 min)

Queen of the Desert
- A real life Priscilla Queen of the Desert; Starlady takes us to Areyonga, an indigenous community in Central Australia. She works with isolated teens using a little bleach and a whole lot of color in the hope to spread confidence and pride. (27 min)

O Pacote / The Package
- In the outskirts of Sao Paulo, the young Leandro is a new student in a new school. In the classroom, he meets Jefferson who introduces him to his new group of friends. The boys hit it off and grow more intimate. But, their relationship is at stake when Jeff informs Leandro that he is HIV-Positive. (18 min)

Polaroid Girl
- Sofie is a shy and timid aspiring photographer when she meets June, who runs a vintage camera shop. Something clicks and as the two take off on a photography mission, Sofie learns a thing or two about standing up for herself. (17 min)

- Gabe Kowalski is a late bloomer who goes to great lengths to impress his classmate crush, Shane. (10 min)

Bunny
- Two not so elderly lovers struggle with David’s deteriorating health fro Alzheimer’s. When David wanders off in the dead of winter Kyle has to try to find him before it is too late. (11 min)

Something Real
- A comedic musical twist about a young man who decides to leave his lover, and must now wade through a sea of lost souls looking for…something real. Ultimately this romantic film reaffirms our never ending hope that the right guy is out there. (9 min)

Remember To Breathe
- Starring Lee Meriwether. A former headliner now living alone remembers a lost love while searching for meaning in her golden years. The past becomes entwined with the present and she comes to realize what she thought was past is only dormant and awaits a new spark. (26 min)
